Nissan unveils four new electric vehicle models at Auto China 2024
Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida explained that the company is adopting a China-specific strategy for sustainable growth in the rapidly changing Chinese market. This strategy aims to offer customers a variety of options, starting with electric vehicles. The four electric vehicle concepts unveiled by Nissan feature electric and plug-in hybrid models and will be developed in collaboration with local partner Dong Feng.
Among these concepts, the Nissan Epoch Concept is an electric sedan designed for city life. It features an AI-based personal assistant to simplify tasks. The Nissan Epic Concept is an electric SUV designed for weekend getaways.
It stands out with its autonomous driving capabilities and ability to be used as a portable power source. The Nissan Era Concept is a plug-in hybrid SUV designed for young professionals, and the Nissan Evo Concept is a plug-in hybrid sedan ideal for families.
Additionally, the Hyper Force and Hyper Punk concepts were exhibited in China for the first time. The Hyper Force offers high performance for racing enthusiasts, while the Hyper Punk comes with an AI system that adjusts music and lighting based on the driver’s mood.
Nissan’s China strategy aligns with the company’s motto “In China, For China,” focusing on customer-oriented innovations. Nissan also announced its new brand campaign, “Excitement by Ni,” aimed at offering exciting and personalized mobility experiences in China.
